Bargaining Update October 2018
Bargaining Update October 2018
On October 29, 2018, the Bargaining Team met with the District to establish meeting norms and discussion protocols for all sessions. NHTA and the District expressed mutual interest in working collaboratively to reach a fair and equitable settlement. Our team then outlined our goals and then introduced our 4 R's; Repair, Respect, Restore and Replenish and noted each element:
Repair...our relationship by reinvesting in our members.
Respect...our members by making us a higher budget priority.
Restore...class sizes to levels that are educationally sound.
Replenish...our numbers by attracting and retaining the best educators.
No proposals were presented at this session. NHTA advised the District that we will presenting our formal sunshine proposal at the next Board of Education meeting on November 13, 2018.
The Districts adopted budget shows $0 dollar allocation for contract settlement offering.
Our next Bargaining Session is set for December 6, 2018.
